Learning with FACTS

FACTS Education Programs

Our programs equip medical students and health professionals with the scientific foundation and clinical understanding needed to support patients in making informed reproductive health decisions.

Whether you are a student, clinician, or practicing health professional looking to deepen your expertise, FACTS provides flexible, high-quality learning opportunities to advance your knowledge in Fertility Awareness-Based Methods and Cooperative Reproductive Endocrinology (CoRE).

Why Learn About Fertility Awareness-Based Methods?

“Only 3% to 6% of physicians have accurate knowledge about the effectiveness rates of fertility awareness-based methods (FABMs) of family planning.”

Yet FABMs have important applications in:
  • Hormonal health monitoring
  • Fertility evaluation and management
  • Family planning
  • Patient-centered care

Our education programs aim to close this knowledge gap and prepare clinicians to present all reproductive health options with scientific accuracy and clinical confidence.

Student Medical Elective

The FACTS Student Medical Elective provides medical students and students in other health professions with a comprehensive introduction to Fertility Awareness-Based Methods (FABMs), including the evidence supporting their role in women’s health and their effectiveness for family planning.

This course prepares future healthcare professionals to confidently discuss fertility awareness with patients and support each patient’s decision based on their needs, lifestyle, values, and medical context.

The elective is primarily online and offered over a four-week block, divided into two parts.

The Resident Elective consists of both didactic and clinical components. Ideally, this elective is longitudinal, taking place over the course of one year. However, a shorter elective of at least two weeks can be accommodated.
